The service is only available for United States residents for now, and for stays of less than 28 days. users can purchase vouchers worth $25, $50 and $100 increments. As of now, Airbnb itself does not directly accept cryptocurrencies.

The company also provides crypto gift cards for a number of merchants including Netflix, Hulu, eBay, Amazon, and others.

This is not the first time Cryptocurrencies has been featured as a means of payment in the travel industry, in the past Amsterdam Airport which is the main international airport of the Netherlands installed Bitcoin ATM for travelers to convert euro to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Another major player in the travel industry who’s currently accepting Cryptocurrencies is Cheapair who has been accepting Cryptocurrencies for reservations since 2013, the company has also expanded its cryptocurrency payment options by adding 3 altcoins as alternative forms of payment: Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC) and Dash (DASH).

Cheapair partnership with Bitpay after Coinbase ends its partnership with the travel agency has ensured that the agency keeps accepting cryptocurrency for reservations.
