“Bitcoin Omnibus Survey” was the title given to the already concluded survey carried out by the BANK of Canada whose result shows that 85% of Canadians are now engaged in Blockchain activities, especially holding of Bitcoin.
Most Bitcoin holders do this for either speculative reasons or as a form of investment. The survey however, revealed that the level of holders in 2018 is twice the number of holders in 2017.
Also, this survey revealed that the most knowledgeable residents in Canada, when it comes to blockchain activities, lies in the hands of the people living in the western province of British Columbia, which ranks 92% of the whole score, while the province of Quebec has the highest number of interested persons in this new technology.
Bitcoin became so popular in Canada during the late months of 2017. It’s increase in price within that period of time caught the interest of so many people in Canada and in the world, at large. Due to this effect, the percentage in Canada grew by 21% (from 64%-85%). The rise of Bitcoin’s price in late 2017 boosted so many people’s net worth to at least $70,000.
The province of Quebec has been featured on many occasions in recent news as they strive to regulate crypto mining, thereby making it the centre of attraction for crypto miners.
Unlike most cases found in other countries, where women do not actively participate in Blockchain activities, the case is different from that of the Canadians. Their active participation in Canada was also noticed by the BANK of Canada, in the course of conducting this survey. The women of Canada was ranked 80% in participation. However, their percentage does not in any way surpass that of men as the completely dominate the bar chart with 91%
