The 0x team announced on their blog today that they are rolling out 0x Instant, which will allow for fast transfers of any ERC-20 or ERC-721 tokens and can be integrated into any dApp.
The blog post lays out the news quite eloquently:
“Instant is open-source, fully configurable, and allows hosts to earn affiliate fees on every transaction. Under the hood, Instant aggregates liquidity from 0x relayers for any ERC-20 or ERC-721 asset. It automatically finds the best prices within the 0x networked liquidity pool and lets users pay for tokens with ETH via MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, or any other Ethereum wallet.”
Since it is open source, any developer is free to use the code in any dApps they create. This could open up a new world of options for token integration into games as well as other applications. The post lays out a few use cases already being explored, such as non-fungible tokens, crypto wallets and news websites. All of these could use the Instant protocol to streamline the process and cut out the middle man that usually includes transferring a coin into Ether and then trading it for the desired token.
If this proves to be as smooth and easy to implement as promised it may just help bring some needed enthusiasm to the Ethereum network and increased development of blockchain powered dApps.
