Crypto Mining In Iran: Now Made Legal And Accepted By Higher Authorities In Iran

In a report published by a local news agency within the country yesterday, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Cyberspace Council revealed that various ministries of the country’s government have accepted crypto mining, and are working towards legalizing the activity in the country.

Actually what Abolhassan Firoozabadi, the Cyberspace Council’s secretary was trying to say can be deduced from this speech of his:

“crypto mining has been accepted as an industry by Iran’s major authorities, including the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, as well as the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.”

He also talked about 2 major plans the country’s government wishes to achieve in no longer time from now. The plan to develop a platform for cryptocurrency mining regulation and the plan to launch a national cryptocurrency so as to create a financial tool to cooperate with Iranian business partners amid economic pressure from U.S.sanctions.

He also added that regulation and legalization of crypto related activities should be done and ready by late September.

Not too long ago, precisely in late August, we published an article here on coindaily which revealed the readiness state-backed cryptocurrency project draft and its approval from President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani.
