In reality, the adoption of blockchain technology is gradually solving real-world problems and at the same time gaining more traction towards making the world, a better place. Even though, there are still a lot of potholes to be filled up, a certain amount of progress has been achieved already.
Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, in his own opinion likened the new technology to be at the same stage with the internet, back then in the year 2000. He also pointed out the fact huge market corrections we are observing right now is as a result of high expectations of people testing the technology. All thanks to the SEC for the exceptional things they have been doing in this industry and for being lenient on its rulings and regulations.
Back then in the early 2000’s, similar case seems to be happening now. The dot-com technology was approached with high expectancy by the masses, of which the reverse was the case. Although, companies like eBay and Amazon were able to secure the right spot for themselves during that regime, today, they are known as giants in their respective fields.
The CEO however, concluded with this speech:
THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, JUST LIKE WITH THE INTERNET, WHERE IT’S RESTRICTED OR ITS FILTERED, AND I THINK CRYPTO IS GOING TO END UP FOLLOWING A SIMILAR PATH TO THE INTERNET IN THAT REGARD.
